  1. When I woke up this morning there were freezing rain warnings, it was blizzarding and cold. I was looking for ever excuse not to run! I was meeting a friend and left it too late to cancel. So, I went out and had the best run though the snowy ravine I've had in a long time! Sometime it's hard to get out there, but once I'm out there I never regret it.

  2. Ok, after hearing this story I realized I was really being lazy. Plus 10 and a bit rainy is just NOT THAT BAD! Thanks for inspiration Lori, I squeezed in a great 30 minute run because of you today!

  3. My favourite 'workout' this week: Last Sunday, Lucas said "Mom, let's ride some hills!" We decided to play a bit of tennis too, so coasted down to the tennis court, which is about 150 vertical metres below us over a fairly short distance! We discovered that there were no nets, a few puddles, and many VERY BIG WORMS! So we cleared the court of worms-yes that means we transported them and flung them into the grass-then played around for awhile, giggling for much of the time while hopping over worms and chasing the ball willy nilly! Lucas wanted to ride some hills, I think, because he has been doing a kids triathlon training course through parks and rec this fall and is enjoying the 'mountain legs' he is developing! I loved Triing Together with my son!

  4. I've been swimming quite regularly for the past year. I usually get in the pool swim 2000m front crawl. I like a good steady swim but I felt I wasn't improving and at times felt a little bored. I've always felt a little intimidated by the Triathlon Swim Training group at Kinsmen. Heather convinced me it's awesome and I would love it. So, on Friday morning I dove in! I loved it and can't wait to go back!

  5. Ok guys, I went for a road ride today, OUTSIDE! Yes, it is November 14 and there is a bit of snow around, but we mercifully had a few hours of blue sky and sunshine so I opportunistically, and cautiously hit the road! ALmost entirely dry and gravel free, I enjoyed an hour and a half on sunny roads in the Okanagan!
